Bear with us, though. It'll be worth it! As a consolation, on the "Hear Soul" page, we've posted a couple of mixtape songs by Soul Daddy for FREE DOWNLOAD! (Free is my favorite price, how about you?) A Safe Place.
New Album soon! How did this album come to be? It's the simple story of a man with an idea. Once, after watching hours of rap videos, Soul Daddy thought to himself: “You know, there aren’t enough songs out there representing that real thug ****! Where are the stories of spinning rims and drug slanging? Who will speak for the hood soldiers and big-booty bikini models?” Who indeed? Saddened by the fact that these groups did not have a voice in music, Soul Daddy decided that he would champion their cause; speaking up on their behalf. Thus began his journey, as he joined forces with his friend Micah Ortega (formerly of Five Iron Frenzy). Together, they set out to create an album for the people who want to keep it hood. This was his goal, and with Micah’s help, he failed miserably! Instead of real thug ****, this album is full of stories about true life and love; themes that move the heart and touch the soul. Filled with witty lyrics, thoughtful storytelling, and uncommon production, A Safe Place features talented musicians who have all contributed to making the album a total life experience. This is hip-hop; the music of the streets, of the heart, mind and soul, with a generous dose of stealthy wit thrown in for good measure. This is Soul Daddy. (Soul Daddy offers his apologies, and promises to work on thinking up more ways to talk about diamond bracelets and “blasting punk-*** snitches”. In the meantime, we encourage you to enjoy the depth and moving complexity of this new album.) |
